Add Comment Short 2011 Review 12/30/2011
Another year is about to come to an end and you ask yourself where did it all go? Well I must say this year was overall all good. The second half was much better than the first in my life. From a new job to new life experiences it was pretty amazing that I made it here. Back to this "review" ( or at least as much as I can remember). Well 2011 started off as usually, new years resolutions made and broken within the first 3 months but whats new. I must say this was the year of the "Influencer". From this person to that person saying they do this or that in marketing/advertising to the numerous self proclaimed bloggers saying they influence others all in the hopes to get noticed by a brand and have free shit sent to them for a blog post. But as usually its the one that work hard and have sharpened their craft to make sure their production is quality. It is the nature of the beast that is the internet. Also if you didn't start a t shirt line this year you were not winning, but I think this happens every year and then we have to deal with designs of rap lyrics or whatever cool phrase someone thinks they can ride the wave for who knows how long and the recycled design that is also the brands logo that you will see for the neck 4/5 seasons (but there are major brands that do the same thing and people don't care but I think it a little lazy). All in all I hope you grew in 2011 because I sure did, I hope you learned something new about yourself. Statements like "The World is Yours" can be so true if you make it true. The only thing stopping you is your own mentally. and in all things do it like A. KING The Pin is Mighty 12/28/2011
1-2-1 with Jeff Staple and Greg Selkoe 12/28/2011
I don't know how you feel about Karmaloop but I can say that my feelings about the site varies. At first I thought this was a great site to get clothes that no one else would ever have and I would be able to be the definition of an individual. I used to just comb through the shirts just to see if I could see any trends or just learn more ab out brands I've never heard about. Then its somewhat become a wasteland for streetwear brands to sell their clothes on the site. On the other hand it's also a great place for up and coming brands to have another outlet and reach more people. Jeff Staple teamed up with Greg Selkoe, CEO of Karmaloop as another installation of his 1-2-1 series, he dropped some knowledge for all brands to learn. Scholatic Survey 12/17/2011
Jeff Staple, Phil Annand and HypeBeast. These two guys influence me a lot. I enjoy the organic feel that Phil brings to the internet and the its just a simple t shirt brand that i'm running attitude of The Award Tour. Jeff Staple is a major influence in sneaker culture and urban wear in general. I think I have learned a lot from the visuals they have graced the internet with in the last 3 years. Just watch and hopefully you learn something. Show and Tell Benefit Concert 12/07/2011

I must say Jeremy Scott does it again with this collection. I like the fact that he uses colors and still keeps that athletic feel of Adidas in his work. I really only see your most confident athlete trying to rock his track suits to a meet, but you never know nowadays. My favorite show is the JS Wings. I saw two new color ways in this video and it looks like I will have to cop one. My most colorful shoes always seem to be Adidas but they always send the right message, good work Adidas and Jeremy Scott. The KINGS Table 12/02/2011
I don't know about you but Ive always felt like having good books on your center table gave a person a little bit more character. I must've got this from a movie because Im always looking for interesting books that I can put on a center table. I usually look for books that can inspire me to create of something that I just find interesting. Im a very visual person so I gain a feeling from the pictures in the book and try and recreate that feel in my own work. When you go over to someone's house and you've already looked at the furniture what else is there to do ? With all the content online its a nice little get away from the desk, try it some time. Next time you pass a book stop by and see what they have. |
